Work to be completed during the week commencing 4th May 2020.

All work is available via remote access for the school. It can be found in samples\science\working from home.

Chronic Heart Disease

Now that you understand how the heart works lets see what can go wrong with it and how you can fix it. Begin by watching this video then completing the work on the school’s shared area.

Having now learned what an ion is and how ions bond together to form ionic bonds, we are moving on to look at “Covalent Bonding”. This is the type of bonding formed between non-metals. Like all atoms, they still want a full outer shell of electrons and to do this, they overlap their outer electron shells and “share” electrons between atoms. Watch this video which explains it all. The first part of the video is the most important as we will move onto the properties of these substances later. Ensure that you can draw “dot and cross” diagrams for: H2, Cl2, O2, N2, CH4, H20 and NH3.

Continue to follow the on-line lessons, this week we are following the second part of special resistors. You can download the accompanying worksheet from the link in the video.
