Year 9 – week 9

Work to be completed during the week commencing 8th June 2020.

All work is available via remote access for the school. It can be found in samples\science\working from home.

Biology:

Revision: Organisation 1st part 

We have now finished the topic of organisation, so this week you will be doing revision of the 1st part which was, animal tissues, organs and organ systems, the human digestive system, and enzymes, use the check list to see how much you know or what you need to revise.

When revision for digestion – make sure that you watch this video.

Completing the work on the school’s shared area, there is a PowerPoint and  tasks, at either a basic, intermediate or higher level, choose the level that is appropriate for you

Chemistry:

Properties of small covalent molecules:

We have looked at the different types of bonding and now we are working through their properties. We can take a guess at the properties of most simple molecules like carbon dioxide and oxygen, they are gases at room temperature. For this section, you need to watch this video. When you have watched it, download and complete the worksheet in the school shared area.

Physics:

Year 9 need to continue their work on electricity by using this video to which explains how the National Grid works. While watching this video, have this worksheet available so that you can fill it in as you go along.
